The University of Zakho participated in a preparatory meeting for the organization of the Second International Conference on Artificial Intelligence for Sustainability in Developing Countries (AISDW26), hosted by the Duhok Technical University.

The meeting was held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, and brought together representatives of the universities participating in the organization of the international scientific conference. Discussions focused on the conference’s key components, including research paper submission, evaluation, and review, as well as the procedures, preparations, and logistical requirements necessary for organizing the event.

The participants also discussed administrative and technical matters related to the conference themes. The conference will be organized in collaboration with seven other universities from the Kurdistan Region and an international university from Malaysia.

It will also provide researchers, academics, professionals, and students with an opportunity to present innovative findings and explore how artificial intelligence can contribute to addressing development challenges and supporting sustainable solutions in developing communities.
